Kate Kirschner, LMSW

Psychotherapist | NYC / Westchester

Kate Kirschner (LMSW, PMH-C) is a psychotherapist passionate about supporting individuals and families as they navigate the journey through parenthood. She takes an integrative approach, working with clients through the transition to parenthood and the challenges that can arise along the way—including pregnancy and pregnancy loss, birth complications, and postpartum depression and anxiety. Kate supports women and their families across the lifespan, exploring the intersecting identities we hold while building and rebuilding a sense of self through parenthood, marriage, career, aging parents, and more. She also offers Parenting Coaching and facilitates groups for new moms and parents of young children.

Kate is a certified perinatal mental health practitioner, a Level I Internal Family Systems (IFS) trained therapist, and has advanced training in Somatic Experiencing. While earning her Masters in Social Work at NYU, she worked at The Bridge Project, a guaranteed income program for pregnant and new mothers living in poverty, and at GABI at Montefiore Hospital, an attachment-based intervention to preserve families and prevent child maltreatment. Before becoming a therapist, Kate spent nearly two decades working in the American theatre and holds an MFA from Carnegie Mellon University.
