Hannah Lavan (LCSW) is a Psychotherapist and Parent Coach who has been working with children and families for more than 20 years. While pivoting from Performer to Therapist, Hannah worked as a research assist tracking the link between early childhood experiences and adult mental health, co-authoring a paper on adolescent risk taking. After gaining an MSW from Fordham University, she then spent around a decade working as a Nursery School teacher. Hannah credits this time with deepening her understanding of a child’s experience of their world. Three years of Post Graduate training at the Ackerman Institute for the Family fueled her desire to work with patients throughout the lifespan and gave her the skills to work with couples and families. In addition to running groups for new Moms, counseling individuals, and coaching parents, Hannah offers stand-alone classroom observations of children and consultations for educators.
